Backup Quicken to a Flash Drive

1. Insert the flash drive into the computer
2. Wait for the computer to detect the drive (a window displaying the contents of the flash drive may open) – Drive is identified by the letter E: or F: etc.
3. Open Quicken
4. Go to the “file” menu and choose “backup”
5. A window displaying the path of where the backup will be saved will appear
The path should be to the E: or identifying letter of the flash drive
6. If not…you need to direct quicken to where to save the backup
7. Click “browse”
8. Find and click on “my computer”
9. From the list that appears click on the E: or identifying letter of the flash drive
10. Click OK and the window will close displaying the new path for where the backup will be saved
11. Do not check add the date to the filename to save space and reduce confusion between different backups
or for multiple backups check add the date to the filename
12. Click OK
13. The screen will flash and upon completion a window will appear with a message of success
14. done – close quicken and remove the flash drive (ignore any warning messages that may appear)
