Macintosh Notes 10-9-12

How can I transfer my digital images into the computer from my iPad or iPhone?

1st Solution

Use iCloud – make sure you have iCloud on the computer and that sync photos is checked or is on (apple menu->system preferences->iCloud)

2nd Solution

Email yourself the photos and then download them into the computer

3rd Solution

Connect your device via the USB cord (charging cable without the power adapter) to the computer and sync using iTunes

Changing your Homepage on your Internet browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc)

1.   Click the name of the application/browser that you're using (top left)

2.   Choose preferences, options, tools, etc

3.   Find a reference to the "Homepage" (might have to click General)

4.   Change the existing address to the new website address you want as the homepage (i.e. www.google.com, mail.yahoo.com, etc)

5.   Click OK or close window

Sync vs. Backup

Sync – Mirrors the same file/picture/note in multiple locations so that each device sees exactly the same thing. SO if you delete an item that is synced, it will be deleted from the other location also.

Backup – Keeps a copy of a file/picture/note in a safe place so you can delete one copy and still have a duplicate/backup of the file

Use Web Mail (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc) to store files/photos/documents

1.   Send the files/photo/documents via email attachment to yourself

2.   Open as needed or leave it there for safe keeping

Access your files, contacts, notes, photos, online through iCloud.com

1.   Login with your apple id

2.   Look for your item
