Macintosh Notes 11-13-12

Troubleshooting

Try an alternative software

Example

Macintosh Mail Vs. Mozilla Thunderbird

Apple Pages Vs. Microsoft Word Vs. Open Office

Safari Vs. Firefox Vs. Chrome Vs. Opera

Attachments

-Look for "attach", "insert", paper clip

-Might be in the "file" menu (Macintosh Mail)

Files to attach are typically saved on the "desktop" or in "documents"

!!----Macintosh Mail---->drag the file and drop it into the email

**Remember what you see is not always what people will see/get, but the attachment will be there**

--Resend an attachment sent to you via email (2 options)

1-Forward the email, which will include ALL the details of the original email

2-Download the attachment and then send it with a newly created email

How do I transfer some photos from my computer (iPhoto) to my iPad?

A FEW PHOTOS, email the photos to yourself as an attachment and then tap and hold on the photos on your iPad and choose to add/download

A LARGE AMOUNT (But not ALL) – Sync only a specific folder to your iPad from iTunes – Plug your iOS device into the USB port of your computer, iTunes will open, click on the iOS device that appears on the right, choose from the top tabs and settings what you want to sync from your computer to your iOS device. Ex. Checked music, photo folder, etc.

I installed new software in my Mac, where is it?

From the finder/desktop, click the "go" menu above, choose "applications" to get the entire list of software/applications installed in your computer.

Add the application to the dock

Click hold and drag the icon from the applications folder onto the dock

Change Settings

Click on the name of the program (top left)

Choose Preferences, settings, etc
