PC Notes for 6-4-13

When printing from webmail, gmail,

yahoo, aol, hotmail use the PRINT ICON

on the screen to remove the ads and

navigation links.

Selecting files
Continous files in a group = Click the

first file -> hold shift -> click the

last file (everything in between will

be selected)
Multiple files scattered = Click the

file -> hold CTRL -> click the next

file -> repeat

Backup files to a flash drive
1) Select the files/folders to backup
2) right click on any one of the

selected files/folders
3) go to "send to"
4) choose the flash drive from the list

that appears
(note: your files will be COPIED to the

flash drive, if there are existing

files of the same name, you may be

prompted to overwrite the files)

Close windows that won't close
1st - ESC
2nd - ALT + F4

Click on the first (unpaid) result which should be iobit.com 4. Click the link “download now” 5. The page will change click in the middle “download majorgeeks” 6. Wait for the page to load and you will be prompted to save or run the file you are downloading 7. Click “save” if possible choose the desktop as the location where you want to save the file 8. Backup Quicken to a Flash Drive 1. Insert the flash drive into the computer 2. Wait for the computer to detect the drive (a window displaying the contents of the flash drive may open) – Drive is identified by the letter E: or F: etc. 3. Open Quicken 4. Go to the “file” menu and choose “backup” 5. A window displaying the path of where the backup will be saved will appear The path should be to the E: or identifying letter of the flash drive 6. If not…you need to direct quicken to where to save the backup 7. Click “browse” 8. Find and click on “my computer” 9. From the list that appears click on the E: or identifying letter of the flash drive 10. Click OK and the window will close displaying the new path for where the backup will be saved 11.
