Mac notes for 9-17-13

Spotlight (top right) - find files in your computer

Wifi/Radio Waves - Click to turn off WiFi/Airport or choose a connection from the list

Bluetooth - wireless used to connect keyboard, mouse, speakers, printer, etc. (if your keyboard or mouse aren't working, try changing the batteries first before fussing with bluetooth settings)

Menu (Top Left) - Changes based on the application you are using

Finder - the default Operating System name. Files and folders

Apple Menu (Top Left) - Access functions like
About this Mac - gives you more information about the make and model of your computer
System Preferences - Access the computer's settings
Shutdown/Sleep - Turn off your computer

Magnification - System Preferences, Universal Access. Turn on Zoom function to change the zooming hold "apple" and "option" and tap = (zoom in) or - (zoom out)

Change the permanent size of text - System preferences, Monitor, change the resolution. Bigger the number the smaller the text.

Change how the screen dims or goes black - system preferences, energy saver. Slide the slider to the desired time.
