PC Notes for 2/4/14

Preview window - displays on the right side of an open file/folder window and shows a preview of the file you click on.
Turn it on and off by going to the view menu and choose preview pane. Alt + P
Resize the preview pane by going to the middle bar that separates the preview pane from the list of documents/files and when you see two arrows…click hold and drag to resize it.

Printing Web-Based Emails WITHOUT the ads, mailboxes and header information.
Gmail - Look for the printer icon, top right of message
Yahoo - Click "Actions" -> "Print Message"

Click on the first (unpaid) result which should be iobit.com 4. Click the link “download now” 5. The page will change click in the middle “download majorgeeks” 6. Wait for the page to load and you will be prompted to save or run the file you are downloading 7. Click “save” if possible choose the desktop as the location where you want to save the file 8. Backup Quicken to a Flash Drive 1. Insert the flash drive into the computer 2. Wait for the computer to detect the drive (a window displaying the contents of the flash drive may open) – Drive is identified by the letter E: or F: etc. 3. Open Quicken 4. Go to the “file” menu and choose “backup” 5. A window displaying the path of where the backup will be saved will appear The path should be to the E: or identifying letter of the flash drive 6. If not…you need to direct quicken to where to save the backup 7. Click “browse” 8. Find and click on “my computer” 9. From the list that appears click on the E: or identifying letter of the flash drive 10. Click OK and the window will close displaying the new path for where the backup will be saved 11.
