HP Officejet 6500 Wireless will not print with black ink

  1. Unplug the printer at the back
  2. Wait 30 seconds
  3. Hold the # key and the number 6 key at the same time (I've read # key and number 3 works also, but didn't for me)
  4. Plug the power cable back into the back of the printer. 
  5. Hold those two buttons until the device turns on and then off again.
  6. Wait for the printer to prepare itself and follow the prompts on the printer screen
