Troubleshooting Processes
Issue: I Can't Open an Email Attachment!
Understand the likely steps:
1. Receive the email with attachment
2. Click on the attachment to start the download
Does not work, Internet Browser is Out of Date / / try to access the same email attachment in a different Internet browser (i.e. Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.)
Look carefully to see if it automatically downloaded as it does in Google Chrome, seen on the bottom left, and sometimes in Firefox, seen in the top right
3. Successfully download/save the attachment to the computer
4. Opens properly with the required or compatible program
Need the correct program, search Google for a program that opens your file. Search using the files 3 letter extension after the .

DO NOT OPEN ATTACHMENTS FROM PEOPLE/COMPANIES YOU AREN'T EXPECTING EMAILS FROM!
ex. Sorry we missed you, click here for a shipping receipt
Your invoice wasn't processed properly
Thank you for your order
Your security information needs to be updated
Your deposit or transaction needs your attention

Amazon Fire TV – Get if you are a Prime member, Also create their own content, So Prime members get Video Content
Roku – If not interested in Prime get the Roku
Apple TV
Chromecast

(Purchase the boxes, not the sticks of the Fire TV or Roku)

Subscribe to 3rd party streaming
Netflix
Hulu
Acorn
etc.

Setting up a new streaming device on the TV is not difficult.
Be sure to switch the Source/Input using the remote to HDMI (comcast remotes, TV/VCR, bottom left)

Defragment the files that are bogging down the computer using Smart Defrag 1. Go to google.com 2. Type in the search bar, smart defrag and then press enter 3. Click on the first (unpaid) result which should be iobit.com 4. Click the link “download now” 5. The page will change click in the middle “download majorgeeks” 6. Wait for the page to load and you will be prompted to save or run the file you are downloading 7. Click “save” if possible choose the desktop as the location where you want to save the file 8. Backup Quicken to a Flash Drive

Backup Quicken to a Flash Drive 1. Insert the flash drive into the computer 2. Wait for the computer to detect the drive (a window displaying the contents of the flash drive may open) – Drive is identified by the letter E: or F: etc. 3. Open Quicken 4. Go to the “file” menu and choose “backup” 5. A window displaying the path of where the backup will be saved will appear The path should be to the E: or identifying letter of the flash drive 6. If not…you need to direct quicken to where to save the backup 7. Click “browse” 8. Find and click on “my computer” 9. From the list that appears click on the E: or identifying letter of the flash drive 10. Click OK and the window will close displaying the new path for where the backup will be saved 11.
