Macintosh Mail

Access your email with the default email program that comes with the Mac

Open the stamp with the bird and you will be guided to enter your email and its password to access your email.

+The benefit of using Mac Mail is you won't have ads and you won't have to repeatedly login with your password.


Change what you see on the screen by clicking the View menu and choosing show mailboxes to see:

Inbox, Sent, Draft, Trash, Junk

Outbox will appear ONLY when an email is waiting to be sent.

If you have the outbox visible, click it to see if there is an email with an error that cannot be sent. Click the email and delete it and send a new email.


Increase the size of the text in the email message

Increase = Hold Command & Press +

Decrease = Hold Command & Press -


Change the overall size of the fonts on the screen

  1. Click the apple menu
  2. Choose system preferences
  3. Choose display
  4. Change the scaled options


Change just the size of the font for the email list in Mac Mail

  1. Click the mail menu
  2. Choose Preferences
  3. Click View and check Classic Layout
  4. Click Fonts & Colors
  5. Click Select beside Message List Font
  6. Change the size to what you want (bigger number = larger font size)


*Be sure to only make one change at a time and if needed write down what was changed so you know what to undo if you don't like the new setting.



When working in an application like Pages, to see the text larger, change the Zoom not the font size.


Google Voice

Get a secondary phone number.

Route it to the phones of your choice.

Let it go to VoiceMail and get the messages get sent to you via email transcribed and with a recording.

Setup other custom features.

Backup Quicken to a Flash Drive 1. Insert the flash drive into the computer 2. Wait for the computer to detect the drive (a window displaying the contents of the flash drive may open) – Drive is identified by the letter E: or F: etc. 3. Open Quicken 4.
