PC Class Notes 5/7/19

Windows 10 Update May 1, 2019

*Warning* you must have 32GB of free hard drive space available to install the update

I suggest waiting to install the new update and follow the saying, If it ain't broke don't fix it.


Check your hard drive and how much space is used and available.

Right Click on the Start Menu

Choose File Explorer

Click Computer on the left

Your hard drive will appear on the right with the information you need displayed


Make space on your hard drive

Photos and Videos take up the most storage space


Buy an external hard drive or thumb drive to move your photos and videos to

-or-

install Google Photos Uploader to save your photos and videos to the cloud for free

Other benefits of Google Photos in the Cloud is you can access your photos from any Internet connected device


Go to photos.google.com

Login or sign up for a Google Account (note you can use any existing email address to register)

Click the three horizontal lines on the top left

Choose App Downloads

Click Download to retrieve the installation file

After the file downloads, click the file to open it and install the application

Follow the instructions

Upon completion of the installation the application will start

You will be asked to sign into your google account

Choose to save photos and videos

Choose unlimited free

Done all your photos and videos will be saved to the cloud


Visit photos.google.com to view the files on the cloud and once you confirm they are there, you can delete them from your computer.


Download the app on your other devices to connect them to your unified storage location for photos and videos
