- Receive a Facetime Audio/Video Call on a Macintosh
The easiest way to use Facetime to Connect with Someone with an Apple device is to … give them your Apple Id email.
Finding your Apple Id Email
Open Facetime (click spotlight magnifier, top right and type in Facetime)
Click “Facetime” on the top left
Choose “Preferences”
Under Settings you will see “You can be reached for Facetime at”
Share that information with the other person
Contact Someone With Facetime on a Macintosh Computer
*Important* The person you are contacting must be properly setup to receive Facetime calls
Ask them for their Facetime Email or Phone Number
Open Facetime
Enter in the Information on the top bar
Click the Video Camera for a Video call or Telephone Handset for an Audio Call
Wait for the person to pick up
Facetime Directly from Your Address Book Contact
Open your Contacts/Address Book
Find the Person to Contact
If you can Facetime the person Facetime will be lit Blue
Click the Phone Handset for an Audio Call or the Camera for a Video Call
*if Facetime is NOT lit up Blue you cannot Facetime or Message with the person
Receive & Send a Text Messages on a Macintosh Computer
*Important* The recipient you are texting must be using an Apple device
Open Messages (click spotlight magnifier, top right and type in Messages)
Click the Piece of paper and pencil
Type in the recipient’s phone or email
Click in the bottom blank bar and type your message
Push “Return” on the Keyboard to send the message
