Look up your computer's specifications which includes the highest OS you can upgrade your computer to, if you can add/upgrade the memory, etc. https://everymac.com/

Where to find your computer's OS version, the model and manufacture year, serial number and more.
  1. Click the Apple Menu
  2. Choose About This Mac

If you have an Macintosh built before 2021 and have a 12 character serial number you can lookup your computer's specifications https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/

Get ready for OS 15 which will have AI integrated into it's system. Check using the links above to see if your computer can handle the upcoming new OS.

Is your desktop full of icons?
  1. Organize them into Stacks
  2. Click the Finder (face on the dock)
  3. Click View
  4. Choose Use Stacks
Your icons will be organized by their type. Click the type to expand the group and reveal your icons.

Need to enlarge text on the screen?
  1. Click the Apple Menu
  2. Choose System Settings
  3. Click Display
  4. Choose the corresponding image for larger size text you want

If your dock taking up valuable horizontal screen area?
Change the dock to be on the left or right of the screen.
  1. Click the Apple Menu
  2. Choose System Settings
  3. Click Dock
  4. Change to Right or Left

Can't find those scroll bars. Change the OS default setting from automatically show to always show.
  1. Click the Apple Menu
  2. Choose System Settings
  3. Click Appearance
  4. Choose under "Show Scroll Bars" Always

Want better control of your mouse? Try a trackpad.



Change controls, including scrolling, secondary click (right click) and gestures for the mouse and trackpad in system settings.

Learn about the options/functions in your OS and apps. Click each menu item to learn what you can do.

You will also see the shortcut keys related to a menu option usually accessed by holding down Command and pressing a corresponding keyboard key.

Don't forget to secondary click = right click = Hold control and click to reveal more options.

My emails have been hacked! What do I do? Notify all your contacts, friends and family to ignore the recent email and NOT send you money or respond to the email. This includes someone to send the message on your behalf.  Or create/use a secondary email to send a notification email to your friends/family group or distribution list NOT to send you money or respond to the email.
