iPhone & iCloud Storage - Making Space and Saving Files
iPhone Storage
Check your iPhone's storage capacity and usage. *If your storage is close to full in the future you might want to buy an iPhone with more internal storage.
1. Open Settings
2. Tap General
3. Tap iPhone Storage
4. Look at the bar graph
Follow any suggestions given to save space, if needed.
Below is a list of all the apps and the total storage used by each one including the related data.
Turning on/off Offload Unused Apps - Any apps you haven't used within a month or more will be temporarily unloaded from you phone (notice the cloud beside the app name). When you tap on the app, it will download and be reinstalled for you to use. You don't loose any data related to the app but you might have to sign into the app again. This is useful if you've downloaded apps, don't use them and forget to remove them.
1. Open Settings -> scroll down to Apps
2. Go to the App Store
3. Find the option to turn On/Off Offload Unused Apps
Check your iCloud Storage - This is remote storage in the Cloud at Apple. You get 5GB free but need to pay monthly if you exceed that.
1. Open Settings
2. Tap your Name on top
3. Tap iCloud
4. Tap Storage
5. Information about the total free and used storage will show including which apps take up the most storage.

Check backups to be sure you don't have old backups from unused devices saved.
Check your Messages (texts) where normally all the photos/videos people send are taking up valuable storage. If you tap Messages you can see Manage Storage where it will show you the media taking up space so you can choose to delete them. Also beside Keep Messages, change Forever to 1 year or 30 days to automatically purge your messages.
Look for duplicate photos/videos in your photo gallery.
1. Open the photo gallery
2. Scroll down to Utilites
