Transferring Files from Removable Devices - Instructions

Transfer a File from your computer to the Removable Flash Drive

 

  1. Insert the drive, and notice any windows that appear and identify the letter assigned to the drive, ex. E: F: G: etc. (a window should appear indicating you inserted the drive correctly)
  2. Close all the open windows
  3. Locate the file you want to transfer to the Flash Drive
  4. Right Click on the Flash Drive
  5. From the Menu Choose "Send to"
  6. Choose the drive with the correct letter designation as explained in step 1
  7. The file will be copied from the computer to the flash drive
  8. Done

 

Transfer Files from your Flash Drive or other Media to your computer

 

  1. Insert the Flash Drive or other Media into your computer (if a list appears click open folder OR if a window appears, skip to step #5)
  2. Double click "My Computer"
  3. Identify your drive from the list of media displayed
  4. Double click the icon to open it (if and error appears, try another icon)
  5. A window appears displaying the content of your drive
  6. Right Click on the File or Folder
  7. From the Menu Choose "Send to"
  8. Choose "My Documents"
  9. The file will be copied from the drive to "My Documents"
  10. Done

---OR—

Starting at step 5 above, click hold and drag the file/folder you see to where you want to put it, i.e. the Desktop or My Pictures folder
