2/16/16 Macintosh Notes How can I get a paper document into my computer? Do you have a scanner? Yes! Go to the apple menu Open "System Preferences" Go to "Printers and Scanners" Click on the printer/scanner Click the top tab "scan" Choose "open scanner" The scanner will open - Change advanced settings in the "show details" option (i.e. DPI 300+ for printing a photo, 200 for a document, 100 for sharing on a screen / File Format JPG for Photos or PDF for Documents) Name the document Note where the scan will be saved, i.e. desktop or documents Scan the document Do you have mobile device, smart phone tablet? Yes Take a photo of the document OR Download a PDF app to convert the image to a pdf format Now I have a scan what do I do with it? Attach it to an email Open email program Fill out the email, recipient, subject, message Click on the paperclip Locate where the document to be sent is stored i.e. Desktop or
