Macintosh Notes 3/21/17 Sharing Documents in the Cloud with Desktop, Laptop, iPhone and iPad devices. —===Use iCloud Drive===— Turn on iCloud Drive (Desktop/Laptop) Apple Menu System Preferences Click iCloud Be sure iCloud Drive is checked Turn on iCloud Drive (iPhone/iPad) Tap Settings Go to iCloud Be sure iCloud Drive is checked —===Move files to iCloud Drive===— On a Desktop/Laptop Move the file you want to share on the cloud into the iCloud Drive folder —Access the folder by clicking GO in the finder Drag the file to share into the iCloud Drive Folder On a iPad/iPhone Open the file to add to iCloud Drive Tap the arrow pointing up Choose Save to iCloud Drive —————— Sending emails To: ///MUST HAVE\\\ USE YOUR OWN EMAIL WHEN SENDING BCCs CC: (Carbon Copy) BCC: (Blind Carbon Copy) Don't want others to see who also has received the email, include the email addressees in the BCC! Forwarding information to other unrelated people, put everyone in the BCC. ——

iOS notes 3/14/17 Need to backup Backup occurs automatically through iCloud, WHEN...the device is plugged in and you are on WiFi (look at top left stack of archs) Check that backup is setup Settings iCloud Backup Turn it on or push backup to start a backup Lock rotation Open the control panel and click the lock with arrows around it 1. Slide your finger from the bottom colored frame around the screen to the middle of the screen Turn off Siri Settings Siri Switch it off Activate "hey siri" for hands free activation of Siri Save content from the internet on Safari

PC Class Notes 3/7/17 I created a document, WHERE IS IT? *Open the program you used to create the document. i.e. Word, Excel, etc. 1. Click the File Menu 2. Choose Recent Documents Tip: Hover your mouse over the file you want to see the path (i.e. c:/users/jason/documents/myfile.docx) where the document is saved to. Read the path from right to left with the name preceding the / as the location of the file. The file example above is saved in documents. **Still can't find your document. Look on the desktop Or click any folder and choose document or downloads ***Last but not least, use the SEARCH function of windows 1. Click the start menu 2. Type the name of the file you want (less is sometimes better) remember to hover your mouse over the result you want to see the file path to where the file is saved Change the view of the icons to show a detailed list. 1. Macintosh Notes 2/21/17 Organizing the icons on the screen or in a folder Click the view menu and choose icon, details, etc. Sort Files by a Specific Information, Name, Date, Kind, Etc. Click the View menu and choose Sort By and then choose how to reorganize the files Kinds of Files jpeg (tiff, png, gif) = pictures/photos pdf = electronic document (non editable) doc, pages = word processing (editable) html = webpage xls, numbers = spreadsheets Save as PDF (portable document format) Print the document File menu Choose Print Click the PDF menu on the bottom left Choose save PDF Edit a PDF You must purchase specific software like adobe acrobat Quickly jotting down ideas and information to be saved/organized on the computer, iOS device.
