Special Class 1-23-18 New Google Products Most talked about app for the start of 2018, the Google Arts and Culture app available on the iOS and Android devices. It has helped the DeYoung increase its reach by 875%. The attraction to the app for young users is the ability to match your face with a face in a work of art. Why are they doing this? They are enhancements from third party developers that add additional functionality to your web browsing on the Internet experience. Other Extension Last Pass - Password storage (can be synced with multiple devices) Evernote - Document, Note storage on the cloud (can also be synced with multiple devices) Ebates - Get cash back as a check from almost every online store Grammarly - A proofreader that runs in your web browser so your gmail, yahoo emails can be checked before sending. They also provide an online word processor with the proofreading function. Save on Paper when Printing Specify which page to print, just page 1 to 1 which is usually the most important information. What can my iOS device do? Word processing using the Pages app Banking, all banks have an app that allows you to access your account information, deposit checks and pay bills Electric payment portals, PayPal, Venmo, cash.me , Zelle Apple Pay, apple's wallet used to store your credit card info to quickly make payments via an app or using an Apple Pay system at a retail store Investment accounts, view daily portfolio activity, facilitate transactions Download a stock tracker that is NOT linked to your actual account, like Stock Tracker Watch or read about financial information, download the CNBC app or Bloomberg app Compile and get reports on all your financial accounts in one place via, mint, personal capital or QuickBooks  Throughout the year we will explore more apps and what the iOS system can do. Backup your computer (2 Ways) 1. External Hard Drive with automatic backup software (1 time) 2. Cloud Backup (monthly fees) Do not need to backup: Emails – a copy resides on the providers server Online Services – Banking, investing, shopping, etc. Online Office Applications – Google Drive, Microsoft One Drive, Apple's iCloud Run your Malware check program Recommend MalwareBytes Run Updates 1. Run the windows update (search "update" in the bottom search bar) Remember the update may take a long time so don't expect to use the computer while updating and be patient. 2. Update your browser – Firefox (3 lines top right, help, about), Chrome (3 dots top right, help, about) 3. Look for updates for commonly used software under the help menu Remember updates are NOT upgrades. Upgrades typically cost money and might not be necessary. Do I need to replace my iPhone Battery?
