Trouble Shoot WiFi

What to do if I see…Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

Do not "Diagnose the Connection" normally won't solve the issue, only there to give you something to do besides throwing the computer out the window.

Step 1 - Check to see if WiFi is connected

*Look at the bottom right corner where the time is displayed and look for two screens, ascending bars that indicate that you are connected

***No connection indicated by red symbol, lack of lit bars, etc.

Check hardware if no connection found

      Desktop: Make sure your antennae is plugged in usually on the top or in the rear of your computer.

      Laptop: Make sure the WiFi antennae has not been switched off by looking for the WiFi active light

      Tablet or Phone: Make sure Airplane is off and WiFi is on

Step 2 – Antenna is on and working, check your are connected to the correct signal

*Click or hover your mouse over the signal bars and make sure the name that appears is the connection you want.

**To connect to a connection choose the name and enter a password if needed

Step 3 – WiFi is connected but no internet

Windows XP

*Right click on the WiFi icon on the bottom right

**Choose Status

***Choose Repair

Windows Vista/7

*Right Click on the WiFi bars, bottom right

**Choose "Troubleshoot Problems"

***A screen appears and at the end of the diagnostic you will get a status report

Step 4 – Still no internet, here are a few actions you can do

*unplug and restart your router

*call your ISP
