PC Notes for 5-7-13

My computer is running slow, what can I do?

1.      Run Spyware/malware detector

2.      Download the software from www.Malwarebytes.org

3.      Install the downloaded software

4.      (be sure not to sign up for any trials or additional software)

5.      Run the Scan

6.      View Results and Clean/Delete

**If the computer is running slow, uninstall Malwarebytes and repeat the same steps next time you need to clean your computer

Choose which applications startup and run when you turn on the computer

"msconfig" – BE CAREFUL, RECORD THE APPLICATIONS YOU'VE DISABLED

1.      Go to the start menu

2.      Choose "run"

3.      Type in "msconfig"

4.      Click OK

5.      Remove the checkmark besides those applications you KNOW you don't need running (note, removing the check mark will not remove the program from your computer, it will only disable the application from automatically starting when your computer starts)

**not sure what something is? Google it and read more about it

****computer not performing properly after you remove a checkmark, open msconfi again and recheck the application that might be having a problem

Create a line break – Shift + Enter to add a new line to a numbered or bulleted list without the number or bullet
