How can I get a paper document into my computer?
Do you have a scanner?
Yes!
  1. Go to the apple menu
  2. Open "System Preferences"
  3. Go to "Printers and Scanners"
  4. Click on the printer/scanner
  5. Click the top tab "scan"
  6. Choose "open scanner"
  7. The scanner will open - Change advanced settings in the "show details" option (i.e. DPI 300+ for printing a photo, 200 for a document, 100 for sharing on a screen / File Format JPG for Photos or PDF for Documents)
  8. Name the document
  9. Note where the scan will be saved, i.e. desktop or documents
  10. Scan the document

Do you have mobile device, smart phone tablet?
Yes
Take a photo of the document
OR
Download a PDF app to convert the image to a pdf format

Now I have a scan what do I do with it?
Attach it to an email
  1. Open email program
  2. Fill out the email, recipient, subject, message
  3. Click on the paperclip
  4. Locate where the document to be sent is stored i.e. Desktop or Document
  5. Click Attach, Choose or Open (blue or colored square)
  6. Send your email

How can I share an article I find on the Internet with someone?
4 different options
1-Click on the Email option that is available on the article page
2-Click the arrow pointing up on the top left of the Safari window -> Choose Email This page using Apple/Mac Mail
3-Copy and Paste the website address into an email
  1. Click on the website address on the top of the window with http://
  2. Go to the Edit menu, choose copy
  3. Open your email and click in the message of the email
  4. Go to the Edit menu, choose paste
4-Print the page as a PDF to send as an attachment
  1. Go to file and Print
  2. Choose Save as PDF or Email PDF in the bottom right
  3. Attach the PDF to an email
