Special Class Notes 6/28/16 - Google Alerts

Creating customized news alerts to be delivered to your email inbox.

Sign up with Google and keep your existing email address (for those with aol.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.com, etc)
  1. Go to Google.com/alerts
  2. Click Sign In (top right)
  3. Choose Create Account
  4. Fill in your name
  5. Click Use my existing email address
  6. Type in your email address
  7. Fill out the rest of the information
  8. and submit the form

Create the keyword alert
  1. Visit google.com/alerts
  2. login if needed
  3. type the first keyword alert you want to create
  4. Review the suggestions below to see if they are what you want
  5. Click Create alert
  6. Done

Choose how often google will send you an email alert
  1. Before clicking Create Alert
  2. Click Show options
  3. Choose to have alerts arrive immediately, once a day or once a week
  4. Choose the languages, regions where the news will be retrieved from
  5. Click Create Alert
